From Seed to Success:
The Journey Brewing Community and Coffee
From a First Job to a First Storefront
Carly’s earliest experiences in the restaurant world sparked something that never left her. “My first job was at a tiny BBQ spot in town where I learned the hustle and bustle of a fast-paced environment with a side of customer service. Looking back, I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of.”
Years later, after earning her RN degree and starting a family, Carly was ready to take the leap. Her travels to the West Coast inspired her to create something Boca Raton didn’t yet have: a place that brought together both quality coffee and fresh, health-forward offerings like juices, smoothies, and bowls. The dream turned real in 2014 when Carly and her co-founder had an “aha moment”—over a watermelon margarita. Just four months later, they opened the seed. on Palmetto Park Road.
Grounded in Community
Born and raised in Boca Raton, Carly knew her hometown was the perfect place to plant roots. From day one, the vision was clear: a space where indulgence and wellness coexist—“somewhere between a donut and a juice cleanse.”
But building the business wasn’t without challenges. Carly recalls growing pains that every entrepreneur faces—learning through partnerships, legal battles, communication hurdles, and the determination to never give up. “We did not throw in the towel when the going got tough, because it did. We learned to pivot and roll with our ever-growing community’s needs.”
A Partnership That Made Growth Possible
Paradise Bank is proud to have played a role in Carly’s journey. With the support of an SBA loan, the seed. was able to purchase its own bakery and open additional locations.
“Paradise Bank took a chance on us,” Carly reflects. “Without their trust and believing in us, we would not have been able to get ahead. Being in control of our supplier was a major step for us.”
Unlike larger institutions, Carly says the relationship with Paradise Bank feels personal. “I am an email or phone call away from reaching my banker, who assists us in the drop of a hat. That seamless close relationship is something bigger banks could never offer.”
Brewing Bigger Dreams
Today, the seed. has grown to eight locations, from Jupiter to Fort Lauderdale, with its first franchises signed in 2025. And Carly is just getting started.
Even in its 11th year, the seed. continues to evolve, keeping its menu fresh and operations finely tuned while maintaining its heartbeat: community connection. Carly’s ultimate vision is to bring the seed. experience to towns everywhere. “I want to share our vibe, offerings, and comfortability with all.”
